[Life is fleeting, all departs, light and life together.]
Beowulf (Unknown Author)
All the effort that I put in my work comes from my awareness that my time here, like everyone else’s, is fleeting.
From this awareness comes a vow. This vow that I have articulated in my adult life, but which I have actually made since I was born- is to contribute to the world with my own Aesthetic footprint. My earliest memories involve me being moved by works of art: music, films, paintings and unwilling sculptures I chanced upon as I made my first footsteps on this planet, to name a few. I have always been excited by the idea of an aesthetic, but mostly of the fact that each individual can contribute to the world with their own Aesthetic language, no matter their background. When I talk about contributing to the world with my own Aesthetic language, I do not mean just things of beauty, but also things that could come across as strange and even disturbing. Things that have a strong presence but also things that are so subtle they can risk being overlooked for centuries. All these ‘things’ become ideas, concepts, and projects both failed and fully fledged, expressed through various mediums, from images to text, to performance, to cinema and music, and all will ultimately reflect on (and help maintain) my openness to the world and my own aliveness. I call my artistic practice
THE ECSTASY OF EXISTENCE
This website will serve as my own catalogue where I try to give each of my mediums a just space to show my Aesthetic language.
Thank you for visiting.

Biography
Stephanie Sant is a Paris-based Maltese filmmaker, writer and performer who describes herself as a 'multidisciplinary poet'. After studying the piano and harp as a child, she turned to the visual arts when she was 18 and produced a series of self-portraits in the Maltese landscape. This series, her way of reclaiming her own body and space after working as a fashion model as a late teen, allowed her to be selected to do a Master’s in Photography at Central Saint Martins in London between 2014 and 2016, where she called a sister’s convent her home for those two years. On her return to Malta, she turned to filmmaking as a writer and director while working as a life model for artists and as a performer in theatrical creations overseas. Her alternating roles between director and performer continue to greatly enrich her artistic vision. Her own work and her involvement in other artists’ work have taken part in the 2019 Venice Biennale (San Marino Pavilion), the 2021 Biennale Danza in Venice, the 2025 Architectural Biennale in London (Malta Pavilion), the 2024 Accelerator with Werner Herzog and Peter Zeitlinger organised by La Selva Coop, Spazju Kreattiv (MT), la Friche la Belle de Mai (FR) and Het Nieuwe Instituut (NL).
